Is the plugin for the 'epkowa' backend for image manipulation, so I installed it - no effect. Is your USB scanner ID listed in /usr/share/iscan-data/usb?Ĭan I simply add it or will that not work? And Epson's iscan still doesn't find the scanner.ĭid you uncomment epkowa in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf? When the nf is unedited, xsane starts and tries to use the webcam (which is senseless). # which has a product ID of 0x0110, would look as follows:Īfter that xsane tells me (due to the vendor and device ID) that there is a unknown Epson scanner and crashes after a while. # A sample configuration for the Epson Perfection 1650 (Epson GT-8200), # to find the USB product ID, use lsusb(1). # SEIKO EPSON's USB vendor ID is '0x04b8' (without quotes). I copied the firmware to /usr/share/iscan and edited the nf, but there is no firmware path specified. You probably need to uncomment the line in /etc/sane.d/nf where you set the path to the firmware file. Is there an ebuild for this plugin or can I or someone else create such an ebuild? I found out about the location where the plugin is copied to during installation, but simply copying it there is not sufficient. Of course I also visited the epson download pages here and here where I downloaded some rpm packages and extracted the plugin (esfw66.bin is the correct one). I found this forum post from what I learned that epson scanners in general seem to work. I know I need a proprietary plugin for the scanner which would be something like Code:īut I can not find any ebuild satisfying that, there are only packages for gt-f500, gt-f720, gt-x770, gt-x820, and perfection-v370.I have also installed xsane and the sane-backends hoping this might help Code:ĭescription: Scanner Access Now Easy - Backendsīut to no avail. Code:ĭescription: EPSON Image Scan! for Linux (including sane-epkowa backend)ĭescription: Image Scan! for Linux data files GT-F650 įirst I have installed iscan and iscan-data and also added my user to the group scanner. The scanner is being recognized correctly: Code:īus 002 Device 005: ID 04b8:012d Seiko Epson Corp. It is rather old but it works fine under my very old opensuse 10.3 (32 bit) and I also got it to work some years ago under a Sabayon installtion which I abandoned now for a Funtoo installation. I am trying to get my Epson scanner (perfection V100 Photo or V10/V100) to work.
